This camp is designed for those that enjoy being physically active and are looking to have fun each afternoon. The camp is based at Tawasentha Park’s Large Pavilion and will focus on keeping kids healthy and active through team sports and cooperative group games. Camp highlights will include a variety of activities including capture the flag, four treasures, relay races, water games, kickball, whiffle ball, obstacle courses and scavenger hunts. In addition, we will be using the Town Park pool for swimming each day. If you are attending Tawasentha Park 1/2 Day Camp or a sports or enrichment camp in the morning, you will be able to transition directly into the Afternoon Fun in the Sun Camp. (Or sleep in and come to the park later in the day!).

General Information
  • Campers should be comfortably dressed for various sports activities (sneakers required) and should bring their lunch, water bottle, sunscreen, swimsuit and towel, as we will be swimming every day, weather permitting.
  • If you are attending Tawasentha Park 1/2 Day Camp or a sports or enrichment camp in the morning, you will be able to transition directly into the Afternoon Adventure program (bring your lunch!).
  • Bus Transportation: NOT AVAILABLE except for campers arriving at 11:45am from morning sports and enrichment camps. No bus service home at 3:30pm.

Instructor's Experience
  • Matt Ball has his NYS Certification in teaching K-6.
  • He has over 20 years of teaching experience.
  • He has previously worked for the Town of Guilderland's summer camp program.
