Description: The Caldecott Award is the highest prize in children’s book illustration.

Information
  • Students will love reading, discussing and trying different art techniques based on Caldecott-award winning books.
  • This workshop takes a fun approach to appreciating the illustrations of the most distinguished picture book artists.
  • Students will use the same art materials as the pros to try many new techniques as they create their own award winning illustrations.
  • (A smock is recommended.)
  • Instructor: Robert Whiteman is currently a 5th grade teacher in the Guilderland CSD. He has taught for 25 years, including 5 years as a music & theater teacher and several as an enrichment specialist. He is also a professional director. He was named a 2006 Disney Teacher of the Year & has taught acting & singing for many theater companies in the area.
